Collection: KFA Xpedition - Under development

Description

The KFA Xpedition 4 is a conventional-design, single-engine, strut-braced, high-wing, four-place, four-door aircraft constructed from a combination of steel tube, fabric, aluminum, and carbon-fiber materials. The aircraft will initially be available only in a taildragger configuration.

The Rotax 916iS–powered version, designated the KFA Adventure, will be limited to a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 2,315 lb (1,050 kg). The four-seat version, designated the KFA Xpedition 4, will have an MTOW of 2,535 lb (1,150 kg).

The KFA Adventure’s useful load will remain largely unchanged due to the lower installed weight of the Rotax 916iS engine and propeller combination, as well as the removal of the rear seats.

Expected cruise speed with the Rotax 916iS is 115 kt IAS. Expected cruise speed with the 235 hp configuration is 125 kt IAS. Fuel capacity is 60 gallons.

Primary flight controls are operated via a center joystick and rudder pedals. The elevator, ailerons, and rudder are actuated through dual push-pull Bowden cable systems, while the flaps are operated via a push-pull tube system. The aircraft features conventional ailerons and Fowler-type flaps.

A variety of engine, propeller, and avionics combinations can be installed. Engine options range from 160 hp to 380 hp.

The aircraft is currently in final certification and testing and is scheduled for market release soon. Early adopters will receive complimentary factory options and benefit from priority delivery timelines. Production slots will open during 2027.
